art on youtube. com!
on youtube.com if you type in 'stomp' into the search feild you will get numerous hits popping up onto your screen. if you click the first one, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu15Ou-jKM0, you will see this band stomp playing instruments that only they consider to be instruments. many people consider this art. i consider this to be art because this band take things that normally wouldnt be considered to be musical instruments and make them instruments and play musice with them that actually sounds good.
human behavior
human behavior also has a lot to do with ones upbringing, a person will repond to certain situations depending on how he or she has been taught to respond to those situations. an example of this would be the whole D.A.R.E. campaighn. many children arounf the fifth and sixth grade age are taught to resist drugs and violence with this program in hope that one day the will use what was taught to them in a real situation.
human nature
human nature refers to a set of actions that is dipersed among all humans, but there is a specific subcategory for humans that grow up with each other, or belong to the same tribe. they share the same morals, values, rituals, and ect. human nature is why we do what we do based off of our upbringing. like in africa its typical to celebrate things with dance and they have huge ceremonies in which people dress up and put lots of coloring on their face with many decorative things all over their bodies to repesent differnet things within their tribe.
human condition
human condition simply is talking about why humans do things the way they do them. is simply in a nut shell our entire existence. many paintings were sone suring the surrealist movemetn that celebrated human condition. and why we are the way we are. and why humans do the things they do. why we want the things we want..
dance is art!
dance is art in many different cultures, here in america a lot of people go to bars to drink and dance to relive stress or simply have a good time. in other countries, people dance to celebrate, to grieve, to move on from the past, and many other things. also, here in america, there is a little thing called the streets, in teh streets it doesnt matter who you arem where you come from or who your crew is its all about dancing, and what you make of it.
rap is a culture becasue...
rap is a culture because people who, rap... or hang out with rappers have a certain type of mold they fit into... a stereotype if you must. rappers rap about things that are inportant to them, things that should be important to the world, and things that are important to the group that they hang out with. its imortant for the world to see rappers and their music as a culturte in itself because if you express something youd want it to be heard right?
artists in society
i think that as far as artists in society there are too many feilds to explian, i would argue that a teacher is the most important artist in society. in my opinion teachers my not use clay as their medium but they do use the minds of their students, they mold and shaper our leaders of tomorrow. teachers are by far the most important artists in todays society.
right brain vs. left brain
in general schools tend to wants students to focus on using their right brain for doing tasks asked of them however i think it would be useful to allow students to use a balnce of the two. i think we dont need to block of a childs abiltiy to be creativem and use his or her inmagination. we should let children be who they are and tests should also allow them to explore other options rather than just a yes or no answer.
poetry slam.
i think robert frost's poem, 'fire and ice' is a good example of poetry with a meaning, it debates the end of the world. to me, i think its cool because he basically says it doesnt matter to him whether or not the world ends in fire or ice becasue people are bitter and fierce and either way they deserve to die.
why i believe this film is a work of art...
i feel like the movie, 'american history x' is a work of art because it deals with human struggle. the struggle of changing, the struggle of conforming, the struggle of crime, deception. It also deals with problems within a community that consists of many different cultures as teh characters pull through throught the moive.
public art.
the photograph of this fountain is a picture of public art. its beautiful, and there for all of the public to see. fountains to me are more than just beauty. i think fountains in an artists eyes represent a chance to start over, or begin again... the water cyclers through over and over again, giving it another chance to filter out the bad and let the new continue on for another chance. much like an artist and his or her paintings.
fashion is art!
fashion is art in every way possible, i mean look at the curves and angles of this dress. the way the model carries herself is art in itself as well. modeling in general is an art because there is so uch exression in a models signiture move, or walk, or pose. this ensamble in particualr may not be very attractive, however its an axpressin made by the designer, therefor, its art!
my favorite artist is...
i LOVE this architecture!
Art edu. in schools?
I think art education in schools is very inplortant. As an early childhood major i think its important that we teach children to think and see evrything as art. to express themselves freely. and openly through art, rather than them just holding everything in. i thinks its important that chilren be able to thingk with that part of their brain that allows them to be creative.
Human Struggle
I think this is a perfect exapmle of human struggle. this picture appears to be a boy so wound up he feels as if he is loosing control, or even his life is spirlaing out of control. this is human struggle at its finest becasue he is actually showing a real emotion. confusion and aggrivation is what this says to me.
This music video, well... ITS ART!
In my opinion, Carrie Underwoods' video for her song, 'Just a Dream' is art becasue not only are the effects awesome. It shows two different rituals from around the world. A wedding, and a funeral.
Is Graffiti art?
